The Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC) today published the findings following its call for evidence to evaluate the state of equity in cricket and establish the realities of people’s experiences within the sport.
Following the publication of the report, we've issued the following statement.
"The Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket has published a damning report that represents a landmark moment for the sport in this country.
"It’s essential that today’s report leads to significant and lasting change and cricket as a sport must seize this opportunity to ensure it becomes a safe, welcoming and empowering environment for everyone.
"There is no quick fix that will solve all of the issues raised in the report and it will take sustained effort from everyone who loves and is involved in the game to eliminate racism and all forms of discrimination from the sport.
"As the governing body that commissioned it, the England and Wales Cricket Board owes it to the 4,000 respondents who bravely and openly contributed to this report to urgently consider its response and take decisive action to deliver it.
"Through our investment in the sport and the conditions attached, we will continue to work with them to ensure these necessary changes are made and ensure that every penny we invest in cricket is geared towards engaging those currently excluded."
