Sport Relief 2016: fundraising stories

Walk, run, swim, and cycle; this year we did our bit to fundraise across Britain for Sport Relief

21st March 2016

Individuals, clubs, coaches, and other organisations have been taking part in fundraising events up and down the country to raise much-needed money for Sport Relief. This year we got involved in as many ways as we could.

Our This Girl Can campaign joined forces with the charity to embrace sweat patches and prove that red faces are not only normal but also a great way to raise money for a good cause.

In addition to This Girl Can, thousands followed up on our invitation to attend our Sport Relief flagship events in Norwich, Sheffield and London and took part in the mile, swimathon or cycle, along with Sport England try zones which allowed people to try their hand at different activities throughout the day such as boxing, climbing, netball, tennis, cricket, table tennis, and parkour.

Thanks to everyone’s support, together we have raised a total of over £13,000 and counting - and if you haven't already, there is still time to donate to our This Girl Can Sport Relief fundraising page.
